I love you Sis!!

My big sister lost her battle with Stage IV lung cancer four days after her 64th birthday. I was grateful to be her caregiver and advocate during the months of her ordeal. I threw a birthday party for her on May 17th. That Sunday was a wonderful day. Wednesday, not so much, as I had to convince her to let me call an ambulance because I knew it was time to go to the hospital. I had watched her condition deteriorate since that Monday evening (the 18th). She had chemo on Tuesday, and her oncologist had to notice how poorly she was doing. On Wednesday, she was in an incredible amount of pain, and I knew there was either an infection or blockage causing it. I checked her legs, and they were marbling. The hospital admitted her on Wednesday, and I stayed with her all night. She passed peacefully at 8AM on May 21st, 2009. I know she is now in Heaven with mom, her dad, husband and her children who all preceded her. I will remember our wonderful times together and continue my life with a devoted husband, son, dil and two grandchildren. I will see her again someday, and I take comfort in knowing she will once again dance with me. Her body healed, tumor-free, no need for a wheel chair, Hallelujah!!

Music I listen to

One of my favorite singing artists is Lara Fabian. I have one of her songs playing on this profile page. A cyber-bud of mine who lives in Italy first introduced me to her music.

Our Family of FurBabies

This is Misti, our second Sheltie.
She's seventeen, and her health
is beginning to decline rapidly.

UPDATE: Misti joined Cameo at Rainbow Bridge today (09.16.08) at approx. 5:45AM. She passed away peacefully as she slept.

Our youngest Sheltie is Ahbe', our
14 yr old Blue Merle.

UPDATE: Ahbe' joined Misti and Cameo at Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, May 30th, 2009. I held her in my arms as our vet and I escorted her to Rainbow Bridge. It was a very difficult weekend for me, but I take confort in knowing that Ahbe' is pain free.

Back in '96, our son called me at work to tell me he'd found a half staved 4 - 5 week old kitten by the highway and brought him home. He asked me to please nurse him back to health. I agreed, and began my quest to restore his health and find him a good home. Within 3 weeks, I found him that good home, ours. He was just recently diagnosed with cancer, and he will soon join our first Sheltie, Cameo, as well as our youngest Birman, Z'Bastian at Rainbow Bridge. Here's our Spooky...

UPDATE: Dr Harr and I escorted Spooky to Rainbow Bridge today (03.14.08) at 2:40PM. He is now free of lymphoma. I take comfort in knowing that he is with Cameo and Z'Bastian as well as the other furbabies who made up the welcoming committee today.

In 2000, we decided we wanted to expand our furbaby household, and I began researching cats. I wanted to find a breed of cat that was easy going, sociable, and got along with humans, dogs and other cats. I discovered the Sacred Cat of Burma, which seemed to be the perfect breed. We have since added five Birmans to our household. We added our first three in 2000, which was the year of the X. Birmans are named according to the alphabet. We added another in 2001 and our last Birman joined us in 2002.

Reality TV and Me

I became somewhat of a reality TV Junkie after tuning into the second half of the first season of Survivor. Season one of Big Brother found me not only glued to the damn TV several nights a week, but I also discovered a web site called BanishGeorge, which later became BanishThemAll, lol. That site brought about my introduction to discussion forums, and forum nics. Mine went from OustGeorge to JamiesGottaGo to EddieTakeitHome to my final nic (maintained to this day), Deadlily. As each new reality show hit the airwaves, I found myself glued to the TV more and more. I realized I needed help, as I was a realityTV Junkie...
H E L P MEEEEEEE!

I currently watch each season of Survivor, as it remains my weekly guilty pleasure. On occasion I may watch this season's Big Brother.

Our Typical Weekend in the Summer

image

We moved back to the Michiana area in September of '03 and currently live on a 400 acre all sports lake in MI. Summer weekends often find us out on the lake, watching the sail boat races, or just relaxing on the boat with drink in hand. We always take a cooler filled with fresh fruit and veggies, cheese and crackers, water, Fuze, wine and beer. Hubby fishes while I sit under the pontoon canopy and read. My only interruptions occur when hubby needs me to photograph him with a big catch, or when he needs me to move the boat to a better fishing location, lol.

My Digital Hobby

In December of 2000, I purchased Paint Shop Pro v7.04, and learned to create sigtags and stationery.
I now also create personalized AVs. Below are some examples of AVs and tags I've made...
